I heart (the boys with) muscles
0 comments Published by elliott bledsoe on Friday, 4 January 2008 at 12:42 PMI have been listening to muscles a bit lately and I really like. I am in love with Chocolate Raspberry Lemon & Lime. It is such a cute track:
(I wish that I could. I wish that I could) I wish that I could keep you in my pocket,
So I could play with you all the time,
And wrap you up in a little blanket,
Chocolate, Raspberry, Lemon and Lime!
Cause you're mine
And you're mine
You're mine
(repeat a few times)
My dreams are tropical icy cold,
I'll shake you up from the top of the bottle,
And wake you up in the middle of the night,
And wrap my fingers around you from left to right,
Cause you're mine
And you're mine
You're mine
(repeat a few times)

So I was having a chat to a guy I sort of know on MSN at work today. A bit of a long story but he was asking my opinion of a poem he was writing. Now, it wasn't a very good poem but no matter. This post isn't about good poetry, it's about jerking off. I know, poetry and jerking off go together like mash potato and ice cream.
Elliott, 2.22 pm
I have alot of gay friends, like 80% of my guy friends are homo's lol
Elliott, 2.24 pm
homos? i'd say they would prefer to say they like boys.
Well one they are always horny, and use guys.. Gay guys at bars, are by far worse than girls
lol
don't they say all guys are horny all the time?
I'm not. lol
Ok i get horny, But i don't need sex everyday, or everyweek
but you jerk off?
Yeah
How often?
Elliott, 2.33 pm
then you do need sex often
Jerking off isn't sex. If i'm horny and with my chick, i will still just jack off.
jerking is sex
Hot Guy, 2.37 pm
it is the same impulse that implores a guy to do it
Not really, cum is cum. If my dick rubs againt my boxers and i like it and i cum, does that mean its sex?
lol
I guess soo
But jerking is a totally different feeling for me than sex
aren't they both to get off (in one way or another)?
Well yes, but sex should be more than just getting off.
i disagree, i think everything is about getting off.
of course i understand that not everything SHOULD be about getting off
I jerk off to get off, and i fuck bitches to get off. Sex, and making love are to different things.
I am not saying they aren't different things. They are, but with the same ends
man your kinda making me mad.
chillax man. lol
how you enact that – whether that be a quick tug or a long, romantic night of "love making" – the reason you are doing it is still the same

Sexual (re)orientation: what would Jesus do?
1 comments Published by elliott bledsoe on Wednesday, 19 December 2007 at 11:29 PM
Image: Priests Go Wild! by Alex Guerrero
It might be hard to believe, but there are organisations out there who "cure" young men and women of homosexuality. That's right your attraction to the same sex just requires a little TLC with God. Well, that's and $1000 a month. TLC and cold, hard cash.
There's an organisation in the US called Love in Action (LIA) which will help you free yourself from "life-consuming behaviors" through "the power of Jesus Christ." Casey Sanchez, from The Intelligence Report details on Alternet that LIA can teach you throw a football, change the oil in your car and cross your legs "like a man." Sounds like Sam Martin's The Lost Art of Being a Man: How to Mow the Lawn, without the irony.
For the ex-gay ministries, homosexuality doesn't exist. "...[T]here is no such creation as a "gay" or "homosexual" person. There is only homosexual attraction and behavior..." the LIA website proclaims, "...[and] accordingly, there can be no change from a sexual identity that never existed in the first place." Therefore it is a socially-developed "condition," usually considered to result from sexual abuse as a child or parents who failed to instill masculinity in their sons. The idea is that, if you provide the right environment, you can unpack these things and (re)condition the person with a heterosexual identity.
But how many rungs do the ex-gay ministries have on the board? There is certainly evidence that refutes their claims of success. If the technique is about making them see that their desires are the result of sin, and not of biological urges, social conditioning or (worse yet!) personal preference, then why do so many of them 'revert back' to their sinful identities post-treatment?
Take for example Mike Johnson, the US poster child for your miraculous transformation. Johnson, who is associated with Pure Life Ministries, had been the face of a national advertising campaign for the ex-gay ministry movement. Turns out Mr Straightened Right Out had lost the straight and right and just kept the out. It's reported that he'd been cruising around having unprotected sex without disclosing his HIV+ status.
There's also the example of James Stabile, the reformed gay from Dallas who 'found his way' after a purity seige outside a gay bar. Not long after his reformation, Stabile has disappeared from Pure Life. But Dallas Voice writer John Wright tracked him down to discover that Stabile had been kicked out for being a compulsive liar, nor had he denounced his sexuality.
A more recent (and more tragic) example is Matthew Murray, the 'Colorado church shooter.' The affair was a terrible tragedy, but the motivations behind Murray's actions seem less reported on. The media is branding him a Christian hater but few are looking at why. Murray has been denied video games and was home schooled which rules those out as stimuli. What does that leave? Well Murray was allegedly a failed ex-gay who was kicked out of his church for being queer. And what resulted was not only the unnecessary death of four innocent people, but the equally unnecessary death of a 24 year-old-man. As Rothstein says (sarcastically of course):
"At least in Iran, the executions of gay men are swift. In the United States we prefer to slowly drive our gay children insane so that they grow up to be monsters."
This blog entry is more than a caution against hyper-conservative religion, it is also a warning against pushing identity agenda in areas that you don't fully understand. I think that is a risky game to start messing heavily with sexuality. Whether born and bread or socialised, to try to acutely and drastically intervene and push a new agenda naturally has repercussions. Thankfully in Australia we don't have as evangelical, politically charged (and Right-wing funded) ex-gay advocates. Organisations here have recognised that the attitudes of their US counterparts has to potential to be damaging and conceded that the ultimate ends is not necessarily to proclaim heterosexuality and believe it. I think this is the better approach (if an approach is truly needed)
UPDATE: Here's a great video to demonstrate what I am talking about in this blog:

the male(-on-male, masculine) gaze :: slava mogutin
4 comments Published by elliott bledsoe on Saturday, 29 September 2007 at 7:32 PM![]() red hat (xevi), 2003 |
i really like the art work of slava mougtin. self-proclaimed "exiled dissident, porno activist, homo terrorist, pinko commie fag," his exploits saw him become the target of three high publicity criminal cases which ultimately resulted in his forced move to america.
his highly sexualised installation and photographic works are a paradox. at once they are challenging to the feminised concept of the gay man present in the social psyche, yet subtle features, expressions, clothing and props continually reinvent and reinvigorate the fem nature of gay boys. his installation and photographic work effortlessly obliterates sex/gender stereotypes, to present new, masculinised and hyper-masculinised portrayals of mid-20s gay men.
![]() from pref no 9, 2006 |
the jock strap—both a practical item used by sportsmen, a symbol of masculinity and a gay fetish item—is an important feature as well. the photograph from pref magazine for example features the model buff and with body hair in a jock strap. but he is wearing jock straps, adorning himself in them, and smelling them. they are fetish objects.
![]() anton_helmet, 2000 |
even his most feminised subjects—like phiiliip (see phiiliip & grant, 2003)—are powerful. despite his waif build and his eye make up he is still violent, predatory. his stare is cold and unforgiving, even as he is 'caught' (by the viewer) strangling his boyfriend. as patrik, author of cobain in a coma says:
The models glare into the lens like you're staring at them in gym class and they're about to kick your ass but they're so hot you can't take your eyes away.
![]() phiiliip & grant, 2003 |
i am particularly impressed with his ability to easily push his ideas into the mainstream. his work has been published in magazines such as vogue, artforum, ArtUS, the new york times, visionaire, the village voice and i-D.
possibly most important to the success of his new sex/gender identities is the fact that he is living testament to his own ideology. in february last year he did a shoot for playgirl in which he was dressed in wigga wear and allowed himself to be sexualised in the way that he places before his masculine homo gaze in his works.

hreoc report tars federal legislation
0 comments Published by elliott bledsoe on Saturday, 23 June 2007 at 1:47 PMx-posted: what it feels like for a boi + vibewire blog
on thursday the human rights and equal opportunity commission released its report into equal treatment of same-sex couples in australia. the report outlines changes in definitions describing de facto relationships in at least 58 federal laws. according to the commission, "changing the definitions describing de facto relationships in relevant federal laws could help end daily discrimination suffered by more than 20,000 same-sex couples in australia"
commissioner graeme innes said, “as one man told us during our Inquiry - same-sex couples are first class tax-payers but second class citizens - and we have certainly found this to be true.” and regardless of often being the most tax people in the country, they certainly don't receive any additional benefits for putting the most back into society. they cannot expect the same entitlements in employment, workers’ compensation, veterans’ entitlements, health care subsidies, family law, superannuation, aged care and immigration law. but of course we all know the howard government's approach to same-sex couples.
howard stays firm on no same-sex marriage. on sky news he said,"there's no possibility of our attitude in relation to gay marriage changing." "we are not in favour of discrimination but of course our views on the nature of marriage in our community are very well known and they won't be changing," he continued, "in relation to other issues we certainly aren't a government that supports discrimination."
aren't a government that supports discrimination? then why is there still discrimination in federal legislation? why did we NEED to pass a law to ensure that the dirty fags and lezzos can never get married? surely the vote tally isn't justification enough given last weeks results of getup's commissioned galaxy poll which shows 71% of australians believe same sex couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples in de facto relationships. that also included 63% of coalition voters!
“simple amendments to the definitions in a raft of federal laws would end this discrimination,” mr Innes said, but with a government with control of both houses of parliament which have openly pushed the equality movement back, i doubt this will happen. isn't it about time the federal government got serious about dealing with discrimination. how do we expect to get homophobia out of our workplaces, out of our school yards and off out streets when discrimination is enshrined in government legislation?
if this on going discrimination bothers you, i urge you to sign up to the getup equal before the law campaign, and tell the howard government to make these changes.
i wonder if the commissions concerns around family will have any better luck getting the issue heard in parliament? namely, that the discriminatory laws also have a negative impact on children.

'no to broad sex education': gonorrhoea not the only thing that's up :: a follow up
2 comments Published by elliott bledsoe on Tuesday, 22 May 2007 at 3:23 AMsaw this little snippet this morning:
The YWCA is warning that many teenage girls are complacent about sex - with often severe effects on their health.
A Youth and Condoms survey reveals many young women are having multiple partners and are lax about using a condom.
This follows figures showing gonorrhoea in young people is up 52 percent, and chlamydia almost 28 percent.
YWCA executive director Alison Lewin says young women need to know more about the implications of sex, aside from pregnancy.
now no sex is an answer some people offer up, but lets be realistic: young people have sex. as representative ty harrell was quoted in the wral.com article, "The actuality is kids are [having sex]," Harrell said. "And if they are going to do it, let's not keep our heads in the sand." this furthers my argument why sex education should be expanded. the religious tactict to keep pushing no sex before marriage doesn't address this reality at all!
